The proliferation of smartphones has transformed modern society, not just in how we communicate, but in the ways we form our social relationships and understand the world around us.

Today, a teenager in Recife can chat with a friend in Tokyo in real time, follow the news as it happens and learn a new skill from a video in minutes. Friendships are no longer limited by distance, and information is always one click away.

However, this constant connection has a price. Many people spend hours scrolling through feeds, and conversations at the dinner table are often interrupted by notifications. Some researchers believe that we are becoming more connected online and, at the same time, more isolated offline.

The challenge, therefore, is not to abandon our phones, but to learn to use them wisely.
